SABERCAT HOCKEY PROGRAM MISSION STATEMENT
Welcome to the Sabercat Hockey Program website. The Sabercat Hockey Program (SHP) is a non-profit, 501(C) (3) corporation. Sabercat Hockey has affiliation agreements with the Colorado Prep Hockey League (CPHL), Colorado Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA), and USA Hockey and is a member of the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA).
The Sabercat Hockey Program strives to provide a positive, meaningful, player development environment that supports fair play and good sportsmanship. Our emphasis is centered on family, education, self-esteem, teamwork, and personal integrity for our players, coaches and all family members. Hockey is a sport filled with life lessons. A priority in the Program is to work together to teach and support the skills development of our players and to become better people in the community.
The Program fields two teams for the CPHL season; a Varsity Tier 1 (T1) and a Varsity Tier 2 (T2) team. The teams consist of High School age players that attend Castle View, Douglas County or Rock Canyon High Schools. The Varsity T1 team competes for a spot in the USA Hockey High School National Tournament.
The Sabercats are proud to be one of the first programs to field an inaugural 2023-2024 Girls CPHL team. The Lady Sabercats Girls High School Tier 2 team competes for a spot in the USA Hockey High School National tournament.
The Program fields a Varsity and Junior Varsity team for the Winter CHSAA season. The Varsity team competes for the Colorado State High School Championship.
Sabercat players are provided with training opportunities to maximize player performance including; professional strength and conditioning, mental performance and nutrition consulting, professional goalie coaching and high level on-ice practices.
The Sabercat Coaches and Players give back to the hockey community by providing on-ice hockey summer camps for Elementary and Middle School players that will attend Castle View, Douglas County or Rock Canyon High Schools.
